Training institution Trends.Net Inc. and worldwide networking leader, Cisco, have entered into an agreement with Smart Wireless Engineering Education Program (SWEEP) to enhance Internet Protocol (IP) education among Smart partner schools.
In a memorandum of agreement signed recently, Trends.Net has agreed to take part in giving Internetworking Fundamentals Course for Smart’s 40 partner schools. Cisco, on the other hand, has committed to provide lecturers and experts for SWEEP’s regular symposia and training.
“We welcome this development as it shows that the industry can work together in order to hone the skills needed by faculty to produce better graduates in the field of engineering,” said Ramon Isberto, Public Affairs Head of Smart.
SWEEP is a first-of-its-kind industry-academe partnership that seeks to improve the level of technology and engineering education in the country, particularly in the field of Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE). The program is designed to complement the school’s existing ECE programs by providing training and lectures on the latest developments in wireless technologies.
